Stratigraphie du Quaternaire, géologie et sédimentologie glaciaire, dynamique de l'inlandsis Laurentidien et la paléoclimatologie.

Mes travaux sont basés sur l'étude de la composition de sédiments glaciaires et ont pour but de déterminer l'influence du substrat rocheux sur la dynamique des calottes de glace. Ces travaux s'articulent autour de l'intégration de données de terrain à l'intérieur de reconstitutions paléogéographiques qui permettent d'apporter de nouvelles données quant à la configuration et la géomorphologie de surface de l'inlandsis Laurentidien. Mes recherches ont comme principal objectif d'élucider le rôle que jouent les inlandsis dans le système climatique, en particulier l'influence des mécanismes sous-glaciaires sur la dynamique des calottes de glace et leurs effets dans les variations climatiques et l'évolution globale des volumes de glace continentaux au cours des trois derniers millions d'années. Mes recherches couvrent aussi le champ d'étude reliant les interactions entre les milieux terrestre et océanique, et certains de mes projets ont pour but de caractériser la provenance de sédiments océaniques dérivants de l'érosion glaciaire. Enfin, une partie de mes projets sont d'ordre appliqué, et ces derniers viennent en support à la prospection minérale glacio-sédimentaire (ex. : or, diamant).
